Wiki:Complete articles

NOTE: The following document is merely a guideline, as hunts may have particularities that may require more or less information to be on the page to be deemed complete. Additionally, just because an article is complete does not mean that it (or its subpages) cannot be further improved. All such constructive edits are welcome!

In order to attain complete article status, the following criteria should be satisfied:

Hunt pages[edit | edit source]

  • There should be an infobox, with all statistics filled in where possible.
  • If possible, there should be an image that represents the hunt.
  • The lead should cover the hunt title, as well as basics such as when the hunt was run and the theme of the hunt.
  • There should be a list of puzzles, and optionally plot/background sections if it is expansive enough to fill a section. If not, such details can also be put into the lead.
  • All subpages (all puzzle pages, as well as round pages when the structure is expansive enough to require them) are complete.
  • If the hunt won or was nominated for an award, a section should be added.

Optional:

  • For major hunts, try to find blogs/media mentions.
  • A leaderboard for the hunt if possible. If one is created, it is desirable to make a good effort to alias at least up to the first 30 teams or however many are visible on the leaderboard.

Puzzle pages[edit | edit source]

Puzzle pages are not given complete article status, but should contain the following:

  • There should be an infobox, with all statistics filled in where possible.
  • A solve path is clearly written out. This can be abridged or based on solution pages if solutions exist (but do not copy text directly from solutions)
  • Relevant elements should be added.
  • If the puzzle won or was nominated for an award, a section should be added.
  • There are no to-do sections.

Round pages[edit | edit source]

Round pages are not given complete article status, but should contain the following:

  • There should be an infobox, with all statistics filled in where possible.
  • If the round has any particular mechanics, such as navigational puzzles, these should be explained on this page.
  • There should be a section linking to all puzzles in the round.
  • Relevant elements should be added.
