Obscured is one of the fifteen investigation puzzles from P.I.HUNT 3. It is an acrostic but some of the text does not look normal.
Solve Path[edit | edit source]
As with most acrostics, the first step is to solve the clues, which can be solved as is even with some of the text looking different. Most (but not all) clue answers have length four.
Most (but not all) letters are placed into the grid. Many clues have the same number of words as the answer length, which indicates which letters get transformations. Some clues reorder the words, so the letter placement gets shuffled around.
The transformed clue answers all have length four. The first letters spell out the final cluephraseHISSURNAME for the completed grid.

Acrostic - The premise of the puzzle is an acrostic, albeit with some text looking differently.
Tortured Clues - Though only a few words get affected, the spirit of reapplying transformations is similar.
